Beer Mac and Cheese

Looking for a crowd pleaser for your next tailgate? You have found it here. Easy to make, delicious and one you will be making all fall.

  • 5 cups of any cheese in any ratio

(We used 1 1/4 cup each Havarti, Gouda, Cheddar, Pepper Jack)

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp ground mustard
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 16oz noodles (we used elbows for this)
  • 3/4 cup any beer (about half can)(amber lager/ale works best)

  1. Prep oven for 400 degrees
  2. Cook noodles just under al dente, they’ll cook more in the oven
  3. Melt butter over low heat
  4. After butter is melted mix in flour, salt, and ground mustard. Use a whisk to beat and combine with melted butter
  5. Pour in milk, raise to medium heat, continue beating
  6. When sauce is mixed together, mix in cheese. Best to do a little at a time to ensure it properly melts.
  7. After cheese is melted, mix in beer
  8. Mix noodles and sauce together into a greased baking pan, top with smoked paprika
  9. Place in oven for 15-20 minutes
  10. (Optional) with 5-10 minutes left, top with any additional cheese
